While this is a big responsibility, Russell Wilson is not alone in heading up this operation. The Seahawks’ championship team is made up of key members of the organization, such as general manager John Schneider, head coach Pete Carroll and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, just to name a few. The Seahawks’ Championship team has players who can help Wilson and they all know and understand the leadership role they share.

It’s a stressful time for players, coaches and fans alike, and the Seahawks know this better than anyone. They’ve had a few close calls and their quarterback Russell Wilson knows this as well as anyone. It’s no secret that Russell knows how to play with a lot on the line. This season he’s already had to overcome the loss of his brother to an accident, and his mother to emergency surgery, and now there’s a new obstacle he needs to overcome: the loss of his father to an illness. It is no secret that Russell Wilson is the best quarterback in the NFL. This past season, Wilson proved his worth in many ways, but perhaps his most important achievement is his ability to play at the highest level even while dealing with the significant injuries that plagued him during his first three years in the league. As Wilson looks to extend his run of success with the Seahawks, he may soon receive a much-needed gift from his team.
The Seattle Seahawks have made the playoffs in eight of Russell Wilson’s first nine seasons with the club. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer, on the other hand, has just one Super Bowl ring to show for it. Wilson may not have many opportunities to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Seattle after creating questions about his future with the team this summer.
Fortunately for the great quarterback, the Seahawks may be able to offer him a much-needed present shortly, removing at least one possible issue for the defending NFC West champs.
Pete Carroll’s squad may still be in danger even if general manager John Schneider takes care of a crucial piece of business on Wilson’s behalf.
Russell Wilson’s chances of bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Seattle are dwindling.
With Wilson as their primary quarterback, the Seahawks haven’t come close to winning a second Super Bowl in recent years. Part of it is due to the collapse of an NFL defense that was once regarded as the finest. Of course, it’s also fair to blame Seattle’s ongoing offensive line woes for the team’s playoff failures.
Wilson, in fact, raised eyebrows in April when he expressed his dissatisfaction with a lack of security.
To make things worse, the eight-time Pro Bowler spooked Seahawks supporters by releasing a list of clubs for which he would be willing to play. Wilson’s contract expires in 2023, making the prospect of him completing his career outside of Seattle more likely than ever.
As a result, he’ll be under a lot of pressure going into the 2023 season. While there’s no denying that the 32-year-old is among the finest in his field, Wilson’s résumé would be much more remarkable if he won another Super Bowl.
But if he doesn’t do it this season, he may never get another opportunity in a Seahawks jersey.

By signing Jamal Adams to a record-setting contract extension, Seattle took care of an essential piece of business. Although the skilled safety struggles in coverage, he provides defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. with a useful and flexible chess piece to use against opposing offenses.
The conclusion of an agreement with Adams puts an end to a months-long saga. The front office, on the other hand, has yet to strike an agreement with another star who wants to be compensated.
Wilson, fortunately, may soon get a much-needed present from the Seahawks, which would help him shore up one of the game’s most crucial positions.
According to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, the front management has been “engaged” in recent days in an effort to work out a deal with left tackle Duane Brown. The 35-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season and is looking for a new contract. Despite his advanced age, the former Houston Texans star continued to play at a high level in 2023 and comfortably rates among the Seahawks’ top offensive lineman.
Wilson relies on Brown to defend his blind side, so the Seahawks must do everything possible to re-sign the four-time Pro Bowler before the start of the season. Giving an older veteran more guaranteed money isn’t the best business decision, but the Seahawks have far too much riding on Brown to start the season with anybody else at left tackle.
The Duane Brown situation should serve as a clear reminder of why offensive lineman must be drafted and developed.

The Seahawks have a top-five quarterback, perhaps the greatest wide receiver tandem in the league, and a strong backfield. At this point, though, it’s hard to place them ahead of the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
What is the reason behind this?
Aside from their questionable defense, the Seahawks appear to be doomed to have issues on the offensive line. Even if they can get Duane Brown to return to work, they still seem to be short-handed.
And no one bears more responsibility for Wilson’s shoddy security than John Schneider.
For a general manager who created a storied defense primarily via the draft, the offensive line has been ignored for years. Since Wilson’s arrival, the Seahawks have only used four top-100 selections on a guard, tackle, or center. As a consequence, the talented dual-threat quarterback has been forced to play behind a team that relies heavily on late-round choices and experienced relics.
Needless to say, this isn’t the best method to prepare your franchise quarterback for a successful career.
Don’t be shocked if the Seahawks continue to have trouble safeguarding their most valuable player, considering their present roster.
If that occurs, don’t be surprised if trade rumors about Russell Wilson begin to circulate after the 2023 season ends.
